Something for me... at last!

I've been looking at all the pretty tops and dresses on etsy and in the shops and knew I could do something I would enjoy wearing. I got two tops for $3 at Kmart (yup, $1.50 each!), closed my eyes, held my breath and started cutting... I know it's sad, but even though it was only a cheapie shirt, I felt terrible mangling it, it was perfectly functional after all. I don't think it minded because here's what I ended up with:

I made the flowers from scraps, cut out the leaves from the 'spare' shirt, and added assorted bits of trim and beads I'd collected in Spotlight's oddment packages. Louise, I think some of your leftover lace and trim made their way onto the shirt, too.

Here I am wearing it... I *love* it. I would never have chosen yellow but I like how it turned out, so I'm glad those two yellow shirts caught my eye in the clearance :) A very good experiment, I think!

Total cost: $3. And I have plenty of knit fabric left to play with!
